* Chair Massages* * Music* William "Bill" Schafer of Leeds was Cancer Connection's first male client. An avid runner and birder, Bill helped found our men's cancer support group which has been meeting successfully for almost 8 years. He believed deeply in the importance of Cancer Connection's programs and was on the Board of Directors. In 2005, we held the 1st annual Challenge in his memory. 11:00 Doors Open at the Garden House in Look Park 11:00 - 12:30 Registration 11:30 - 3:00 Music - Face Painting - Nickel Toss - Shoebox Auction 12:30 The Walk - one leisurely lap around Look Park. Adults and children are welcome. Park rules exclude animals. 1:00 Grand Parade of Trikes
1:00 - 3:00 Make Your Own Sundaes 1:30 - 3:00 2009 Grand Trikathlon Teams of 4 adult riders (18 years or older) will compete for prizes and bragging rights. If you have a kid's tricycle, a helmet, and a huge desire to have fun while making a fool of yourself, we want you! Each team only needs one trike, but all riders must have helmets. For the rest of you, come see why tricycle racing is all the rage!

PLEDGES Please ask your family, friends, neighbors and employers to support you as you walk or compete in the 2009 Grand Trikathlon. No minimum amount is required, but $50 of pledges per participant is suggested. Prizes will be awarded to the walkers and trike teams who raise the most in pledges. Collect your pledges before April 19th, and bring the money (or checks made out to Cancer Connection) with your completed pledge form to the Garden House when you check in.

Lilly Oncology on Canvas, in partnership with the National Coalition of Cancer Survivorship, has awarded a grant to Cancer Connection on the recommendation of artist Elizabeth Menges, award-winner in the 2008 Oncology on Canvas competition.
