IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you are 70.5 or older, you may donate up to $100,000 per year directly from your traditional IRA to Cancer Connection. It can satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Under RMD law, you are free to make annual gifts to Cancer Connection in the current year and well into the future. Since the gift does not count as income, it can reduce your annual tax burden. This may also help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax. You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.

As with any planned gift, it is important to talk to your financial or legal advisor.

Honoring Those We Love

Giving in memory or in honor of a loved one or a friend is a very personal way of remembering and celebrating them as well as supporting Cancer Connection. Your support will offer life-affirming and supportive programs and services free-of-charge to those most in need.

You have many ways to honor those you love. You can make a donation or organize a fundraising event. When someone you love passes away, you can request donations to Cancer Connection in lieu of sending flowers. You can give a bequest. You can recommend a donation to Cancer Connection from your donor advised fund, retirement fund, or IRA.

If you would like to make an online donation in honor or in memory of someone, please include information about whom you want notified in the appropriate portion of the donate form.
